How does EPS underfloor heating panels make?

2023-06-01

Making EPS foam board is a delicate process with many steps. First, the raw material polystyrene (EPS) particles are pre-expanded, and expanded into a foam state at a specific temperature and pressure through the action of steam and hot air. Next, the expanded EPS particles are sent into the mold, and the inner wall of the mold is coated with anti-sticking agent, so that it is easy to demould when taking the mold later.

In the mold, EPS particles are further expanded under the action of steam and pressure, and bonded to each other to form a uniform foam structure. This process is called molding. The heat of the steam expands and bonds the particles together, while the pressure ensures uniform expansion and shape.

Subsequently, the EPS foam board in the mold is cooled, allowing it to solidify and stabilize. The cooling process can be realized by natural cooling or by cold water circulation system. After cooling is complete, the mold is opened and the foam board is removed.

Finally, the foam board is cut to the desired size and shape by cutting and trimming. Trimming can be done with cutting tools or a hot wire cutter to ensure the accuracy and flatness of the board.

After the whole production process, the EPS foam board can be further used in construction, packaging, insulation and other fields. This process not only produces high-performance EPS foam boards, but also contributes to energy saving, emission reduction and improved quality of life.
